I will overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote next month's bout.

Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will really want to injure him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather attacked former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the novice continues to be one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning huge paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As both boxers participated in the customary face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
